What State Is My Current Hair State

You have to ensure that your hair can handle the change. You have to be real with yourself here. You don’t want to end up with NO hair!

Can I Handle The Maintenance

With the current hair color trends being bayalage, ombre, pastels and bright colors. Those require a lot of maintenance and a WHOLE LOTTA BLEACH! You have to ask yourself if you can afford it, if you can manage the time spent, and if your hair health can handle the constant dyeing. You can prolong it a bit longer if you are okay with faded color or roots showing!

Is It Appropriate For Work

If you work in a corporate job or in an environment where you have to interact with consumers, you’re probably going to have a really hard time convincing your boss that Rainbow Hair is acceptable. If you’re in a more relaxed environment, I say, consider all the other questions & make a pro-con list and make your choice!

Will You Marry Me

Going from virgin dark brown hair to cobalt blue is not a one night stand, it’s a marriage! Understand that the color is going to be there to stay! Even if you try to dye it back to your ‘original’ hair color, it will never be the same. Trust me; This, I know! Maybe you’re just itching for a change, get a haircut or try out some extensions for a couple of weeks. Don’t damage your hair if you’re not ready to commit.

The Right Way To Go

Color or highlights? Balayage or Ombre? Full change or just the ends? There are so many different techniques and colors that are sure to make your head spin. Make sure you’ve done your research on a certain technique. If you want to start off small I suggest coloring the ends; therefore, if you don’t like it and are willing to cut your hair, you keep the health and your color of your hair!

Do I Want This

Coloring your hair is a major change and I’ll be the first to say DO IT! (I can’t help it, I’m an enabler -.-) But ultimately, it is YOUR hair, it is YOUR brand, it is YOUR money! Don’t get suckered into doing something you don’t really want to do just for the sake of making someone else happy or making a statement. I REALLY wanted to dye my hair a beautiful mix between cobalt blue and turquoise but I had just dyed my hair to my ‘natural’ hair color after having grey hair and it completely damaged my hair. I didn’t want to do that continuously because of the maintenance such colors require. So, friends, I didn’t go blue, nor pink, nor red!
